“Shivers,” a brand-new song by Ed Sheeran that will be on his next album = (Equals), is now available. The album will be released on October 29th via Atlantic Records.
Sheeran sings over snappy handclaps, strummed guitar, and perky strings in “Shivers,” a punchy blast of love-struck pop. The song is accompanied by an equally jubilant video, shot and produced by Dave Meyers, in which Sheeran and actress AnnaSophia Robb act out a fantasy whirlwind courtship that includes everything from street fighting to mild abilities to desperately waiting for a text.
Sheeran will perform “Shivers” live for the first time on television during the opening game of the 2021 NFL season, which will be broadcast on NBC, on Thursday, September 9, in addition to releasing the studio version of the song.
After the lead single “Bad Habits” and the follow-up “Visiting Hours,” = has just released “Shivers.” Although it also comes after his 2019 collaboration album, No. 6 Collaborations Project, the new album is Sheeran’s first solo LP since 2017’s (Divide).
